Erich von Menstein was the one, who formulated assumptions of development and use of German assault weapon. Storm guns were to be used for direct support of infantry and they could be used only in emergency. Vehicles were to drive several dozen behind the infantry division. Regiment commanders in their commanding vehicles defined aims (MG stands, shelters, artillery units etc.), which next were to be destroyed by self-propelled tanks…
