Over 650 illustrations, including 270 in full colour and 127 photographs, depict the uniforms , badges and insignia of the armies, navies and air forces of the Eastern Bloc. Covering the armed forces the U.S.S.R., Poland, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Yugoslavia, it shows, country by country, the combat uniforms of the Warsaw Pact in '70s, illustrated by photographs of troops in training, on exercises and parade. There are also over 250 drawings demonstrating the method of wear. The 16 page color section illustrates each nation's rank insignia and arm of service badges, while full length figures show complete uniforms, with accoutrements and small arms.
