The experiences acquired by the Spanish Army with the entry into service of the Renault FT-17 battle tanks (see VBEE no. 2) and the Schneider CA1 assault tanks (see VBEE no. 1), and especially those experienced during their use In the Moroccan campaign, they fostered the idea at the beginning of the 20th century of being able to develop in Spain, with its own resources, a battle tank adapted to the needs of the Spanish Army. The most interesting was the TRUBIA Mod. A-4 light battle tank, of which four prototypes were built between 1925 and 1934, but did not enter the production phase due to economic and political problems.
