The fighting spirit of the Homeric hero is revived more than 3,000 years later, above the Aegean, as a poison arrow from 339 sqn. breaks formation at full afterburner to launch towards the "unidentified aircraft" coming form the East and violating the national airspace.
The wonderful composition by Kostas Kavvathias portrays two F-4Ε Peace Icarus 2000 of the 339, as they prepare to intercept enemy fighters. A very nice detail is the squadron emblem of the 339 sqn "AJAX".
